Fiat Chrysler Automobiles NV is remembering 297,000 elderly minivans in North America due to a wiring problem that may cause inadvertent air bag deployments, the company said in a statement on Thursday.
The recall of 2011-2012 model year Dodge Grand Caravan minivans is connected to 13 minor accidents, the auto maker said. Wiring may short circuit which may lead to the driver side air bag deploying without warning.
The recall will start in late July and contains 209,000 vehicles in america and almost 88,000 vehicles in Canada. Dealers will replace the wiring if necessary and include protective covering.
